Vice President for Planned GivingWest Texas Rehabilitation Center
The Vice President for Planned Giving works under the direct supervision of the CEO of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center. The primary efforts will be devoted to raising funds for the Foundation through outright gifts, life income gifts, bequests and other planned gifts. This person will maintain personal contact with donors to develop their interest in Rehab programs and to provide information concerning gift opportunities. Manage the relationships between Rehab personnel and major gift prospects. Responsible for the cultivation and solicitation of gifts from prospective donors. Includes performing or supervising donor research. Ensure the accurate recording, reporting and acknowledgement of all gifts received by the Rehab in our donor database system. Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions. Oversee maintenance of database and records of activities described above as necessary.
Bachelors degree a minimum, plus 3 years of relevant fundraising experience with nonprofit or higher education organizations and demonstrated record of fundraising success. Must have excellent communication skills, be trustworthy and dependable and have the initiative to get the job done without close supervision. The person should have the general knowledge and personal resources to work with donors and their advisers in gift planning and must be willing to increase their knowledge and expertise in gift and estate planning. CFP certification a plus but willingness to obtain a must. Work requires experience in nonprofit, fundraising, grant proposal preparation, public relations, sales and promotions, marketing, or a related field in order to acquire skills necessary to administer, coordinate and/or participate in a variety of fundraising activities. Computer literacy required. Significant travel is required and a valid driver's license is necessary.
