Development (Fundraising) Foundation & Research ManagerAsphalt Green
Interested in running your own shop for Foundations? Do you value cultivating a donor as much as writing a proposal? Is adding program & donor development to your skill set of interest to you?
Asphalt Green has a great opportunity for someone with a background of institutional work and a desire to connect with the donor beyond the proposal. We are hiring a Foundation and Research Manager for our Development Department to grow our foundation portfolio, enrich our prospect pool, and develop need statements through research. Proposal writing for foundations (traditional, corporate, and family) and the stewardship and cultivation of new relationships will be the focus. The first year in the role would focus on growing the $370,000 received annually in grants. Working with the Director of Development and Director of Community programs, s/he will support the growth of a new Senior Fitness program through new funding sources in addition to the numerous programs in existence.
We are looking for someone energetic who can thoughtfully steward our relationships and tenaciously find and cultivate new prospects. S/he will need to work well with a variety of different managers from the sports, aquatics, and community programs departments that Development interacts with to make our work possible.
As a key member of the Development team, s/he will also have responsibilities for special events, prospect research, fundraising strategy, and all campaigns. Our dynamic team values candidates with a can-do attitude and a sense of humor. The work is serious, the team is fun.
-Minimum four years of Development experience with a successful track record in securing grants and corporate support upwards of $250,000 annually.
-Experience conducting stewardship activities to cultivate and maintain positive donor, corporate and foundation relationships.
-Familiarity with fundraising software (foundation center, results plus, raisers edge) are encouraged but not required.
-Knowledge of New York funding community preferred.
-Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft office
