In their appeals, the schools are walking a fine line between urgency and not offending donors who may be supporters of President Trump or projecting instability. Since passing a near-total ban on abortions in 2022, Oklahoma has poured millions into crisis pregnancy centers and nonprofits supporting new mothers and children. The Oklahoma Life Foundation is in charge of doling out about one-third of the $18 million in the state’s Choosing Childbirth program. It vets and oversees the nonprofits, including one that runs a nurse-staffed call center to direct women to “life-affirming” providers. (Frontier and StateImpact Oklahoma)
