One of the greatest challenges nonprofits face is effectively reaching younger prospective donors. Some of the most innovative organizations are building awareness of their cause, and raising money from this hard-to-reach audience, through video games, an entertainment medium with revenues and reach that rivals movies and pop music.
Since 2004, Games for Change has been working to help create and distribute video games that serve a social purpose, offering players avenues to give to and learn about a variety of causes. In this segment from the Business of Giving, Susanna Pollack, president of the New York nonprofit, gives examples of how games are being utilized for education, humanitarian impact, and even digital medicine.
