A New York Times financial writer looks at how family philanthropies are becoming more adept at involving younger generations in the business of giving.
Wealth Matters columnist Paul Sullivan talked to philanthropy consultants and the younger members of wealthy families to “learn more about how the generations were managing the transition” and using their foundations to tighten family bonds.
Mr. Sullivan also cites the findings of a recent study by giving consultancy 21/64 and the Johnson Center for Philanthropy on foundation heirs are affecting their families’ charity. Read a Chronicle of Philanthropy article on the study, titled “Next Gen Donors: Respecting Legacy, Revolutionizing Philanthropy.”
