Susan Byrnes has been tapped as chief communications officer. Most recently she was director of external communications.
Gargee Ghosh, director of its Development Policy and Finance team, is now president of global policy and advocacy.
Ankur Vora, director of its Strategy Innovation and Impact team, has been promoted to chief strategy officer.

Magui Rubalcava, founder and president of the philanthropy group, is departing after six years.
Kayva Yang, chairman of its Board of Directors, has stepped in as interim president as the charity searches for a permanent successor.

Margret Trilli has been promoted to CEO. She joined the group as president and chief investment officer in 2018 and will continue overseeing investments in her new role.
The organization’s founder and previous CEO, Tim Freundlich, will now serve as executive director of strategic development.

Diana Breen is now interim president and CEO of the arts group, following the resignation of Eileen Doyle after six years as executive director. Breen is a leadership consultant who has previously served as interim leader of the Association for Neighborhood and Housing Development, Rebuilding Together NYC, and Marquis Studios.

Paul Belsito, president of the Hanover Insurance Group Foundation and assistant vice president of community relations at the insurance company, has been named executive director of the Irene E. and George A. Davis Foundation. He succeeds Mary Walachy, who has retired after 23 years at the $77 million foundation.
Jessica Dunn, vice president of community engagement and development at LiftFund, is the new executive director of Leukemia Texas.
Brooke Flanagan, managing director at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, will return to the Steppenwolf Theatre Company as executive director in July, becoming the first woman to lead the arts group. She previously worked at Steppenwolf for seven years as director of major gifts before she departed in 2010.
Nicole Rawling, former director of international engagement at the Good Food Institute, has co-founded the Material Innovation Initiative, a nonprofit group that will advance sustainable materials for use in the fashion, automotive, and home-goods industries.
David Schmitz, executive director of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, will become executive director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in the fall.

Cristal Backer, a regional coordinator for the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri, will now serve as director of development and outreach at Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri.
Tiffany Bedran, chief financial officer at the Children’s Trust, is now chief administrative officer at the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation. In addition, Amy Powers, executive director of major gifts at Jupiter Medical Center, has joined as chief development officer.
Tina Cheng, chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and chief medical officer at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, will also serve as director of the Cincinnati Children’s Research Foundation.
Tiffany Kerrigan, vice president and regional director of the east central Indiana region at the Little Red Door Cancer Agency, is now director of development at A Better Way Services.
Sarah Lacz, assistant vice president for advancement and alumni engagement at Saint Peter’s University, has been named vice president for institutional advancement at Bloomfield College.
Kara Mitzel has been appointed director of development at Annual Reviews, a nonprofit publisher for the research and academic community. Most recently she was director of foundation and corporate relations at John Muir Health.
Wendy Rhein has been tapped as chief of staff at the World Food Program USA. She was previously managing director of Unicef USA’s Mid-Atlantic office.
Legacy
Larry Kramer, a writer and playwright who founded the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power, better known as ACT UP, died on May 27. He was 84.
