Commonfund
Mark Anson has been tapped as president and chief executive officer of the firm, which manages assets worth $25 billion for endowments, foundations, and public-pension investors. Anson succeeds Catherine Keating, who is leaving Commonfund at the end of June. He will retain his current posts as chief investment officer of Commonfund Capital and the Commonfund Asset Management Company.
FSG
The social-impact consulting firm has promoted two of its senior leaders to serve as co-CEOs. Greg Hills has been with FSG since 2004 and most recently led its corporate consulting practice. Lauren Smith, a board-certified physician, has directed the company’s U.S. health practice since 2015.

David Williams, president and CEO since 2005, will depart from the charity later this year. A search is underway for his replacement.
Earthjustice
Abigail Dillen, vice president of climate and energy at the environmental-law nonprofit, has been promoted to president, effective October 1. She will replace Trip Van Noppen, who is retiring after 10 years at the helm.

Gisselle Acevedo, president and CEO of Para Los Niños, a social-services charity in Los Angeles, has been named president and CEO of the Ackerman Institute for the Family. She will succeed Lois Braverman, who is stepping down on July 23 after 12 years leading the institute.
Giuseppe (Seppy) Basili, director of strategic initiatives and chief operating officer at the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, has been promoted to executive director.
Jan Carruthers, a fundraising consultant and deputy director of the Edge Foundation, will take the reins as the charity’s executive director.
Marianne Fray, senior vice president of external affairs at the Maternity Care Coalition, has been promoted to CEO. She succeeds JoAnne Fischer, who retired after 28 years at the Pennsylvania charity.
Lisa Gable has been appointed CEO of Food Allergy Research & Education. She served as U.S. commissioner general to the 2005 World Exposition in Japan, holding the rank of ambassador, and is a former president of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation,
J.D Greear, a pastor in Durham, N.C., was elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention. He replaces Steve Gaines, who is stepping down.
Maria Mathieson, head of music education at the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C., has been named the new director of the Peabody Preparatory, a performing-arts school in Baltimore.
Derek Mitchell, who served as U.S. ambassador to Myanmar from 2012 until 2016, has been appointed president of the National Democratic Institute. He succeeds Ken Wollack, who is retiring.
Bonnie Wattles has joined Hilarity for Charity as its first executive director. Husband-and-wife actors Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller started the charity to raise awareness and money for Alzheimer’s care and research. A stand-up-comedy program of the same name is now streaming on Netflix. Wattles previously served as executive director of Franklin Street Works, a contemporary-art gallery in Stamford, Conn.

Kalila Barnett, interim executive director at the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, has been hired as program officer for climate resilience at the Barr Foundation. The Boston philanthropy named climate resiliency as one of its top grant-making priorities last year.
David Browdy, associate vice president and chief financial officer of the health sciences at University of Utah Health, will become vice president and chief financial officer at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, effective August 1.
Robert Foster, chief operating officer at ZipCap, has joined San Diego Grantmakers as its director of impact investments, overseeing a campaign to raise $100 million in social-finance investments.
Michael Lumpkin, former executive director of the International Documentary Association, was named director of the American Film Institute’s AFI Festivals. In the new role Lumpkin will oversee the institute’s AFI Fest as well as its nonfiction festival, AFI Docs, which he has headed since 2015.
Kary Moss, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan, has joined the ACLU’s national office in New York as the director of affiliate support and nationwide initiatives.
Chase Warden, director of finance and operations at the Nature Conservancy, has joined the Land Trust Alliance as chief operating and financial officer.
Departures
Chris Daggett will retire as president and CEO of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation on September 1. He served in the role for eight years.
Barbara Tulipane, president and CEO of the National Recreation and Park Association for the past 10 years, is stepping down.
Legacies
Edward Kaelber, founder and first president of the Maine Community Foundation, died on May 17 at the age of 94. The foundation, which began with a $10 gift in 1983, now has assets totaling $530 million.
