Clinton Health Access Initiative
Neil Buddy Shah, managing director of GiveWell, will become the international health group’s next CEO on June 14.
He is also the co-founder and former CEO of IDinsight, a data-analytics firm.
William and Flora Hewlett Foundation
Ali Noorani will become program director of the $13.3 billion foundation’s U.S. Democracy program in July. Most recently he was president and CEO of the National Immigration Forum.
The Hewlett Foundation is a financial supporter of the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
Meyer Memorial Trust
Toya Fick, Oregon executive director at Stand for Children, has been tapped as the $1 billion foundation’s next CEO.
She replaces Michelle DePass, who led the foundation from 2018 until her departure in February.
VolunteerMatch
Jude O’Reilley, vice president for portfolio and investments at the Skoll Foundation, has been appointed CEO of the organization, which helps nonprofits recruit volunteers.
He will succeed its co-founder Greg Baldwin, who is stepping aside after 24 years. Baldwin has appeared numerous times in the Chronicle and wrote this 2019 op-ed about philanthropy’s role in building a digital infrastructure for good.

Vicky Bond, who previously served as managing director at the Humane League United Kingdom, has been named president of the Humane League, based in San Diego. She will be the animal-welfare group’s first woman leader. Bond succeeds David Coman-Hidy, who has stepped down after nine years as president.

Caroline Bressan will be promoted from managing director to CEO of the Open Road Alliance effective June 1. She follows Maya Winkelstein, who has led the organization since it was founded in 2012 and will now serve as chair of the Open Road Impact Fund Advisory Board.
Scott Coleman, who was most recently head of growth and international at Pinterest, has been hired as president of the online fundraising platform Omaze. He will report to its CEO, Matt Pohlson.
Jerrell Cox, co-executive director of the United South End Settlements, has been promoted to executive director. His co-executive director, José Massó, has departed to serve as chief of human services for the City of Boston under Mayor Michelle Wu.
Allison Duignan, vice president as CCS Fundraising, will now lead the California Pacific Medical Center Foundation as its executive director.
Indivar (Indi) Dutta-Gupta, co-executive director of the Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality, will become executive director of the Center for Law and Social Policy on June 1. He will succeed Olivia Golden, who is departing after nine years.
Tim Eby, director and general manager at St. Louis Public Radio, has been appointed executive director of the Special Education Foundation, where he will also lead a new neurodiverse-careers program. Eby succeeds David Diener, who retired this past fall after four years there.
Julie Heinrich will be the first executive director of the Meow Wolf Foundation, the new philanthropic arm of the arts and entertainment company Meow Wolf. Most recently she was senior vice president at the communications and marketing firm Weber Shandwick.
Nicole Gillespie, who was previously president and CEO of the Knowles Teacher Initiative, has been named president and CEO of the Center for Aquatic Sciences at Adventure Aquarium. In addition, Barbara Kelly has been promoted from senior director of institutional advancement to executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Lisa Gitelson, assistant executive director and legal counsel at the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, is now CEO of the Fresh Air Fund.
Mark Hanson has become president and CEO of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Most recently he was CEO of the San Francisco Symphony.
Kristy Klein Davis, chief strategy officer at the Missouri Foundation for Health, has been named president of the Healthcare Georgia Foundation. She follows Gary Nelson, who is stepping down after 20 years there.
Merle McGee, chief equity and engagement officer for Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, will now lead Everyday Democracy as its president and CEO.
Lucinda McRoberts, chief administrative officer at USA Swimming, will now also serve as executive director of the USA Swimming Foundation.

Legacy
Malvin Bank, a tax lawyer who served as general counsel for the Cleveland Foundation from 1967 until 2003, has died at age 91. He also represented the Council on Foundations on issues related to charity rules and regulations in front of the U.S. Treasury Department and Congress.
