The Capital One Foundation has a new president following the departure of the nine-year-old corporate philanthropy’s original leader, reports the Washington Business Journal. Catherine Foca served as the foundation’s vice president for programs and operations for seven years before replacing Carolyn Berkowitz, who stepped down in April.
Ms. Berkowitz joined Capital One in 2005 as vice president of community affairs and took the helm at the Virginia-based bank’s newly formed foundation two years later. She will remain until October as an adviser to the foundation, which ranks among the Washington area’s leading grant makers, with $12 million in giving in 2014..
