A 60-year-old violinist laid off last year from his job with the New York City Ballet has sued another nonprofit group over his rejection by a charity competition that offers aid to young musicians, the New York Post says.
Martin Stoner sued after failing to make the semifinals in the contest held by Young Concert Artists, a nonprofit that offers aid to musicians aged 19 to 26 to help them start their careers. He was allowed to take part in preliminary auditions but failed to advance, with two of the three judges citing his age.
