WildEarth Guardians
Hop Hopkins will be the next executive director of this conservation group that works in the western United States. Most recently he was national director of organizational transformation at the Sierra Club.
Hopkins succeeds John Horning, who is departing after more than 30 years at the organization.
Museum of Chinese in America
Michael Lee will become president of the museum on April 1. He was most recently managing director of corporate development at the New York Institute of Finance.
Lee will replace Nina Curley, who has served as its interim executive director since April 2023.
Studio Theatre
Rebecca Ende Lichtenberg, executive director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company since February, will return to her previous role as executive director of Studio Theatre. Her move to the Shakespeare Theatre Company was announced in November.
In addition, Danilo Gambini is joining the Washington theater as associate artistic director. Previously he was associate artistic director at Rattlestick Theatre, in New York.
More New CEOs
Corrien Elmore-Stratton as the next executive director of the Village of Arts and Humanities. Most recently she served as executive director of teen leadership at the Greater Philadelphia YMCA.
Bridgette Gray will be the next CEO of Ideas42, a nonprofit group that uses behavioral science for social impact campaigns. Most recently she was senior vice president and chief people officer at Opportunity@Work.
Ellen Meany, publisher of The American Prospect, has been hired as the first executive director of the Alternative Newsweekly Foundation. Most recently she was president of its Board of Directors.
Ruth Estévez, artistic director at Amant, has been named co-director of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She will lead alongside Katie Sonnenborn, who has worked there since 2012.
Maine Community Foundation
The $670 million community fund has promoted three of its senior leaders.
Liana Kingsbury is now senior director of nonprofit agency funds. She joined the foundation in 2007 and was most recently its director of nonprofit agency funds.
Brendon Reay was promoted from vice president of investments to chief investment officer.
Jennifer Richard, director of planned giving, has become senior director of planned giving.
Other Notable Appointments
Pamela Butler has joined the Stephen and Christine Schwarzman Animal Medical Center as executive director of development, where she will lead its $125 million capital campaign. Most recently she was vice president for development at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Sara Harriger, a strategic planning and policy consultant, has been named vice president at the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation.
JoAnn Hsueh has joined the Foundation for Child Development as vice president of program and communications. Previously she was director of MDRC’s Family Well-Being and Children’s Development policy area.
Robert Killins Jr. has been promoted from director of special initiatives to vice president for community investments at the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. In addition, Adison Nelson has been promoted from director of community strategies to senior director of community investments.
Katy Moore, founding CEO of the Virginia Funders Network, is now senior director of advancement at Exponent Philanthropy.
Keith Olson has been named chief financial officer of the Rockefeller Foundation, where he will guide its $6.3 billion in assets. Most recently he was executive vice president and chief financial officer at the Council on Foreign Relations.
Carol Packard, associate vice president for colleges and units at Cornell University, has been named vice president for development and alumni relations at Lehigh University.
Lynne Slattery has been tapped as vice president for philanthropy at KQED, the public media organization in San Francisco. She most recently worked at the Obama Foundation as director of development for Southern California and the Southwest.
Departure
Perry Moulds, senior assistant to the president for philanthropic initiatives at Belmont University, is leaving to become president of Bethel University. Until last year, he was Belmont’s vice president for advancement.
